Most smokers start when they are at school
Half the smokers who smoke in their teens and continue to smoke, will eventually be killed by their smoking habit.
One-third of young people who are just "experimenting" end up being addicted by the time they are 20.
Worldwide, every year around 4.9 million people die from smoking.
In Israel 10,000 people die each year from smoking.
More people die in Israel each year from smoking than from road accidents, terror attacks and AIDS combined.
With each cigarette, a person inhales 43 cancer causing agents.
Even if you've been smoking for years, quitting reduces your risk of serious diseases and increases your chances of living longer.
No Smoking Day takes place on the second Wednesday of March each year.

    Millions of people die on the roads, worldwide, as a direct result of drinking and driving.
Many others will be disabled for life. Some people will be unemployed as a result of their crime.
In the U.S. every 30 minutes, someone is killed in an alcohol-related crash.
Alcohol was involved in 41 percent of fatal crashes and 7% of all
police-reported crashes in 2001.
